I am a professional photographer who has been working in the GTA since 1997. My love for photography began in high school... (MM Robinson in Burlington, ON) which had a very advanced program unique to high schools back then ... including black and white and color darkrooms, where we were allowed to be as creative as possible. I thoroughly enjoyed everything I was being introduced to, and quickly realized that it was something I wanted to seriously explore beyond high school. So I applied and was accepted to Sheridan College, where I graduated with a photography diploma in 1997. During my time at Sheridan, we were exposed to all forms of photography, and of course back then we were all shooting film (with a 4X5 camera for the entire first year) so there was plenty of time spent in dark rooms developing film and learning a variety of printing techniques... which I thoroughly enjoyed! To me it seemed like a very creative process that gave me a way to enhance the reality that I saw through the camera lens. During my second year, I realized that I was becoming more inclined towards a commercial path, and as much as I also enjoyed portraiture and photojournalism (for a time) I knew that commercial photography would be the main path I was going to pursue after I graduated.

After graduation, I began researching my employment options and soon began work in a large commercial studio in Toronto, where I remained for 19 years. I assisted for 4 years (2 years in fashion, and 2 years in product/hardline) before becoming a full time shooter, and since that time have been able to accumulate a large and diversified amount of experience in the commercial world, specializing in product, room-set, fashion, and e-comm. As of 2017 I have been working on a strictly freelance basis, shooting for several studios in the greater Toronto area, and am always looking for new opportunities!

Outside of that commercial world, I also enjoy shooting a variety of other subjects and jobs, such as portraiture (personal/family/pets etc), bands (portraits and CD design and creation) and weddings. This is the kind of photography I enjoy focusing on during my personal time, or when taking on freelance jobs, and I hope to be able to keep my overall body of work as diverse as possible in the years to come :)
